A Minor Mishap & a Return of the Jetty

As alluded to in an earlier post, I am working on terrain pieces for the upcoming Thaw of the Lich Lord portion of our Frostgrave Campaign. I got a couple of the new Streets of Rome Cranes & began building the smaller one.

I ensured to follow the instructions, not wanting to glue something that shouldn't be glued. Be careful with the slats of the treadmill, they are made of card stock & I have 1 of them that bent on me. Caution should be used when painting them to ensure they don't become too soft to insert into the slots.

Looked easy enough, just concentrate...yes just like the image!

Umm....something isn't quite right

Luckily I was able to pop the treadmill out of the brackets & insert it as to how it really should have been....whew, that could have been serious!

I am using some twine as the main cable, once its all glued etc, I will trim those dangly bits off, maybe run some glue over the cleaned line to firm it up. Below is a work in progress photo.

Apart from the couple of issues, I am quite happy with this kit!

I also found the Sarissa Jetty kits I had bought. These were bought for Pulp Gaming with some Sarissa River Boat kits I got in the same order.

I picked up 2 of them, then upon opening the first realize it comes with 2 complete sets of what you see below

Using my usual craft paints of Burnt Umber & then dry brushed with Barn Wood.

I also completed more of the foam terrain to serve as the rivers edging where these jetties will be placed.

    1. Thanks Simon. I am quite happy with their kits. The Jetties are going together quite well, the only glue being the top to the braces.

  3. MDF is normally so unforgiving when you make a mistake, well done rectifying yours.
I love the crane and jetting too.

    1. Thanks Zabadak. If I could provide some insite to those who make the instructions, provide what plastic models instructions have done for years - provide symbology denoting Glue vs NO glue. They may have with these as some bits are shown black vs grey.
