Well here we are, another White Christmas thanks to the few cm of snow we received yesterday. So it makes for a picture perfect Christmas morning. Time to pause & think of those who serve & are currently deployed from their families & friends.
For the rest of us it will be a day of chatting with family on the phone, feasting & enjoying each others company.
Soon it will be time to open gifts & see what Santa brought us.
Merry Christmas everyone!
I know, here we are, yet another site dedicated to gaming and gamers, Miniature painting and the wearing of funny hats. But like so many others, we will spend hours poring over the accomplishments of others....here are mine. Hope you enjoy the journey!

Frostgrave Skeletons & of course some Zombies!
Mixing up the title a bit just to add some variety. I finished a couple repaints of some old Citadel metal Skeletons from the Fantasy Tribes series.
The skeleton on the right will be classed as an Armoured Skeleton. I added some 'rust' to the armour.
And of course a couple more Zombicide Black Plague Walkers.
Will be upping my game as I have started prepping some Runners & Fatties to mix it up a bit more from these Walkers
Tomorrow night is the last club night of 2016, so its hoped to see the Silver Tower hit the table as we attempt to gather our third shard. Otherwise I will be jumping into something else.

Zombicide Walkers
Continuing with the Zombicide Zombies, another batch of 4 came off the paint table yesterday, merely needed a matte overspray & a photo-op.
So up first a couple more of the Zombicide Walkers.
As well as a couple more of the Black Plague Walkers.
I guess I should warn you to expect a steady stream of Zombies for the next couple months or longer as I work through the Core Box of Black Plague, with some added original Zombicide stuff just to keep it moving.
Of course I will take the time for some other stuff thats been cluttering the paint table. In this case we have an old 25mm Metal Ral Partha figure from the Fantasy Collection Series. He will make a fine Templar for Frostgrave.
As the catalog I have showing him is from 1987 you can see that he has been bouncing around for some time.
That's pretty much it for this week. With the week break coming up in a couple weeks, I am hoping to get some quiet time to get more paint on miniatures. Then of course there is the "What's that big box under the tree with my name on it" to look forward too!

Apparently from a 3 figure blister numbered 02-916, I will need to see if I can find the others, or if perhaps this fella arrived from one of the many auction lots I've snagged over the years.

Frostgrave Enchanter & Apprentice
This past weekend I completed the Frostgrave Enchanter & Apprentice set from Northstar Miniatures.
These are nice chunky metal miniatures, with lots of details & character
As I did with my previous Elementalist & Apprentice, I attempted to duplicate the figures paint schemes from the packaging of the blister. Of course there are always a couple minor differences, especially when it comes to equipment not visible in a photograph.
It's off to the club tomorrow eve & with the temps here hitting -30C it will be a frigid trip.
Let's just hope the auto is up to it!

Kickstarter Arrivals & some more Zombicide Stuff
It seems I've been absent from posting for a couple of weeks. This isn't to say I haven't been gaming at all, more a matter of being a bit all over the place with things arriving, getting up the Christmas Tree, Black Friday, Cyber Monday...I think you get the gist.
However as the title states, I had received a couple more of my Kickstarters, namely The Walking Dead & Conan. The photos of the Conan, are not the best, sort of made some space on the table for a quick couple of photos.
as well as the glare from the shrink wrap. Not removing it, lest I get distracted!
The Walking Dead box had a small crush in the bottom corner, but nothing inside was damaged! Whew!
Of course the Walking Dead is a nice segway into my latest batch of Zombies for both Black Plague & Zombicide.
Just some more walkers.
Chipping away at the pile of plastic for Zombicide by trying to get some more of them done as well.
Thus my current focus is on the Zombicide stuff, mainly Black Plague until the core box is finished. As well I have some more Frostgrave being intermixed as I prepare for the launch of our new Campaign come January. Currently working on the Enchanter & his apprentice.
That't pretty much it for this post, Thanks for stopping by.

Zombicide Black Plague
Bruce & Chen came out to the house today to give Zombicide Black Plague a try. This was the first opportunity to get my painted Survivors onto the table.
Eventually I will have all of the miniatures painted, but not at this time.
We played the first scenario. Initially doing the Necromancer Spawns incorrectly, by the 4th attempt we had it figured out.
Most of our attempts saw an Abomination spawn early. As luck would have it, both a Necromancer & Abomination spawned.
In the case below we had found both the Dragon Bile & a Torch.
WHOOSH! Away they went. Alas we didn't win however as more necromancers spawned & sped off.
A couple of Poser's. Nelly & the Abomination.
We believed our strategy of getting the larges building ( 9 zones) opened early while still in the blue zone would be the best option. Although we never did succeed this time, I am sure it is still our belief.
Our after game conversations seemed to agree that the game has some fantastic refinements to Zombicide. The Necromancer spawns & our horrid luck with chained double spawns were what led to most of our downfalls.
Now I need to hunker down & get all these zombies painted!

Zombicide Black Plague - Silas, Baldric, Necromancer
This past weekend saw me finish the Survivors from the core box of Zombicide - Black Plague.
Here we have Silas the elf warrior
As well as Baldric the mage
Once again, these sculpts were quite amazing, with deep recesses in their clothing & cloaks. Then all the baubles, & stuff on their belts.
I am exceedingly happy with how they turned out & I now have all 6 Survivors ready for the gaming afternoon this coming weekend.
I was also able to finish off the Necromancer & another Zombie Walker. The Necromancer also has lots of detail & is a pretty cool figure
As I will be hosting this game on the weekend, I am not even going to think of trying to rush through the Zombies. The primed miniatures will need to suffice for now.
Thanks for reading!

Warhammer Quest - Silver Tower. Third times the charm!
Our party once again descended into the shadowed halls of the Silver Tower, making our third attempt to collect the 2nd piece of the amulet.
The first chamber encountered was 'A Sickening Turn' which was pretty much a deamons gullet, complete with acid. Add to the mix were 5 Tsangor's.
We then found ourselves back in 'Looting the Dead' where we could attempt to loot treasures from the sarcophagi. I netted a Unseen Amulet, we got a second treasure before unleashing the entombed acolyte.
Next was the 'Shifting Plates' chamber & a Tzeentch magic user.
Another magic-using creature manifested, we took him down also!
The Alchemist's Den was filled with adversaries. I used a Basalisk's tongue to turn most to stone. I didn't allow for much renown, but it sure cleared the room!
The Crystal Junction & 5 more Tsangor!
It was at this point we discovered the Vortex. We chose to explore further the other way while the opportunity existed. We then entered 'A Merry Chase' with 5 Acolytes.
We retraced our steps to enter the vortex & entered the Boss Chamber! The was a Fighting pit with numerous Acolytes & Adepts.
The battle seemed almost anti-climatic as we chewed through these guys quick & thus earned our second piece of the amulet!
Now we prepare ourselves for the next foray into the Silver Tower....but that's a story for December!

Past that room was the Warriors Gaze (our favorite room of this scenario) however we did not to into it waiting for the grots within to come to us.

Halloween Treat
After posting my Zomtober entry on Sunday, I was able to push out a couple more figures. Just in time for the Trick or Treater's, as the costumed candy-eaters wane, I can now post them before the midnight hour.
First up are 2 more Zombicide Walkers. They just keep on Shambling.
I was also able to complete Ann the Warrior Nun
And Samson, a dwarf warrior-smith ready to lay the hammer down
This leaves me with 2 more core box Survivors & the Necromancer that I at least want to complete before the Remembrance Day weekend.
With that, it's off to put away the lawn decor, so Happy Halloween & beware the sugar-rush

Zomtober Week 5 - Woah Nelly!
As Zomtober draws to a close, I will complete my entries with the 2nd of the Zombicide Black Plague survivors I've completed.
Here we have Survivor Nelly.
They say Hell hath no fury like a woman scorned... I guess someone crossed the line with this lass.
I am again impressed with the quality of the sculpt. There was a little bit of mold lines to be dealth with, but otherwise good to go.
I had a couple more Zombicide Walkers, however after checking this morning, they were still a bit tacky from the Army Painter Dip, so I decided to wait til later today to matte spray them & do their final touches. So even though Zomtober will be dead - pun intended - I will be posting some more into November.
Upcoming will be another attempt Tuesday to attain our 2nd piece of the Amulet in Warhammer Quest - Silver Tower. I will also be getting a feel as to whom will be attending my November 11th gaming afternoon (which due to other commitments will be pushed to the Sunday). I am currently planning on doing Zombicide Black Plaque (hoping to get all the core Survivors painted), though if my Kickstarter from Conan arrives I will be hard pressed to not want to get it on the table.
Thanks to the hosts of the Zomtober event, it provides some good impetus to get Zombies painted & allows an opportunity to see some rather interesting models & painting palettes.
