Last night saw our clubs (the Edmonton Wargamers Group) first return to in person gaming since the lockdowns began over 2 years ago. We had a good turn out including a new person - Mitch. Scott & Jonathan also made an appearance for a quick chat session, but didn't play in the game.
I brought out The Adventurers Temple of Chac & Pyramid of Horus. Both light, fun Beer & Pretzels games (which I also had my miniatures painted for)
Things started off well enough, the walls slowly beginning to close
Then it got dicey to be in that passage
No casualties in the lava room & several players picking the locks to get the alcove treasures...the rock is moving a bit faster now.
"Hey guys! Move!"
And we got 1 lucky candidate who managed to get steamrolled.
We played a 2nd game, & had 2 unlucky folks go over the water fall.
If I recall correctly, Richard won the first game, followed by Mitch winning the second.
We then pulled out the Pyramid of Horus, where I only got 1 photo of, as the exit was quickly blocked by falling rocks, trapping everyone inside! The game finally beat everyone!
Thanks to those tho braved the storm to make it out.
Pyramid of Horus gets pretty frustrating fast if I remember correctly :)
ReplyDeleteYour games look great with the pieces painted so well sir.
Thanks Dai, we all got trapped very early, by maybe turn 10, the 4 blocks had fallen to prevent us getting out. Fastest run of that game ever!
DeleteIt's always great to have a game and these two seem to have been great 'ice-breakers' for getting back into gaming.
ReplyDeleteThanks Joe, yes they are perfect games for some light hearted fun. Was great to see some of the guys again face to face
