The Wizard warbands descended on Frostgrave for another foray. However one of the treasures was more than it seemed.
One of my archers was taken out on the first turn...not looking to be a profitable venture.
Malcron's apprentice sweeping a street.
Ember with her Man-at-Arms & a Thug. The first treasure is grabbed, but no Genie!
A pair of Giant Rats entered
Malcron's archer grabs a treasure, releasing the Genie!
Additionally there were several waves of wandering creatures...wolves, a boar, giant rats..are we in a Zoo? Oddly enough, they all spawned near Malcron's band.
A long range arrow takes down one of Julio's Thugs.
My Man-At-Arms engaged Julio's construct. After a couple rounds, the construct had been demolished.
The Genie was not having much luck, as Malcron continued to Steal Life from it each round.
Ember cast a Fog to limit the archery coming from Julio's band. Alas, it only lasted 1 turn.
Malcron's Ranger is felled by one of Julio's archers.
A scuffle between Malcron's hound & Julio's Knight & Archer. The Archer is felled!
The next round, the hound rolled a natural 20, however the knight tied the total & thus both were taken out of action.
Another 20! Sheesh, Malcron is rolling well & yet another of Julio's troops falls.
A White Ape arrived & engaged Malcron's apprentice. The Ape was again taken down with numerous Steal Life spells.
My own wizard Ember was engaged by a Giant Rat, but managed to best it after a couple rounds.
As the last of the treasures was taken off the field, the game ended
Malcron (Jonathan) garnered 350xp (16 successful spells, 1 creature killed by the Wizard & 3 treasures). Death took his Infantryman & a Thief . He found 360gp, Potions of Explosive Cocktail, Healing, Invisibility & a Grimoire of Absorb Knowledge.
Julio (Scott) garnered 270xp (14 successful spells, 1 opponent killed by the wizard, 2 treasures) His band was devastated with the deaths of the Knight & loss of his construct. He also had an Archer & Thief missing the next engagement. He found 130gp, & Gloves of Casting.
Ember (me) garnered 400xp (12 successful spells, 2 opponents felled by the wizard, 4 treasures). 2 of the archers died of their wounds. She found 240gp, & 4 Grimoires - Strike Dead, Decay, Strength, Create Grimoire.
The warbands are now recouping their losses & re-filling their ranks for the next foray int Frostgrave
I know, here we are, yet another site dedicated to gaming and gamers, Miniature painting and the wearing of funny hats. But like so many others, we will spend hours poring over the accomplishments of others....here are mine. Hope you enjoy the journey!

The Last of the Myth Miniatures
This morning saw the finishing matte spray to complete the commission on the Myth Figures.
Here we have the Female & Male Priest characters.
Next on my agenda is to get the prologue characters done for Kingdom Death. I am also awaiting the arrival of the guys for our next Frostgrave Campaign Game.

More Mything Persons
I spent yesterday working through the last 6 Myth figures I have. I only managed to complete 4 of them & after a quick matte spray this morning, they are ready to be shown.
Up first are the mages. Again all these come in a male / female variant.
As well the Skalds. The facial expressions on these 2 give me the impression they are having a good time.
So this leaves me with 2 more of the Myth figures, which from what I can see are the priests / clerics.
I have quite a bit more of the Garden of Morr set to complete & it seems to be occupying most of my painting area, so I expect that will be next to finish off.

Operation Martlet - Pushing On
Tonight at the club, we continued out Chain of Command Campaign of Operation Martlet.
In this scenario, British troops attempt to push on through the sprawling village of Fontenay towards the German main line of defence. They must clear this position before they can progress further.
The Germans had 1 full squad, an LMG team with a Junior Leader, 2 German Grenadier Teams with Junior Leaders & the Pzr IV. Not a lot to hold with, so making the British bleed was paramount.
I was sitting on the opposite side of the table, thus reversing the orientation of my photos from the map above.
The British got 6 turns of Patrol movment & was able to lock down the German kick-off markers quite quickly.
I did manage to get 1 of the German Grenadier teams on early. They came under fire from the Churchill AVRE, as well as sniper & a squad firing from the building to the right.
After taking an ineffective hit from the Pzr IV, the Churchill goes off the road
The Grenadier team continues to take shock, eventually breaking & running towards the rear.
The Germans did have some luck however, as a small group of British troops was ambushed by another German Grenadier squad, which after killing 3 of the British, vanished. This was then followed up by an assault by the German Squad, killing the last British soldier in the building.
The German squad then withdrew behind the building out of sight of the British. The British continued to consolidate.
A British Rifle team managed to snag one of the German jump off points, however a German Grenadier Team arrived during a double phase for the Germans, they then rushed the British Rifle team & killed 4 of the British, with the loss of 2 of their own. The remaining British withdrew.
It was at this stage that the German Commander took the opportunity to withdraw before losing any more of his troops. The British noses had been bloodied & the exhausted German Defenders needed a respite. Thus the Germans lost the field, however they remained generally intact. We await the results of the battle from Dave.
