Stargrave The Lost Prospector - The Devil's Fruit Bowl

Today we played Scenario 2: The Devil's Fruit Bowl. We had 4 crews continue on the surface of Honera. Each of us had our guide.

 

As we arrived, it was noticed that there were several Freeholders attempting to illegally make off with harvested fruit.

 

As I played one of my side hustle cards, a pylon was placed at the centre of the table. (We also used the pylon to define where fallen figures rolled towards.

 

It didn't take long for the Venemous Croakers to appear, though we didn't have too many interactions with them & they ended up being more dangerous to the Freeholders who moved within their needle radius.

 

A Tangler appeared behind Dan's crew & engaged one of them.

The slog to the centre continues. I think by turn 5 all the Freeholders were either dead & we had just 1 drop his loot & run off the table.

 

Craig & I had a big melee occuring over a loot token.

 

A Grenade Launchers Dream....a mass melee occuring by other crews. Alas, I rolled a 1.

 

With all the loot gathered & removed, the scenario ended. Many crewmen were down (all of mine fully recovered...whew) though I lost my guide & had to pay 60 credits, likely to cover the funeral expenses.

 I did make it to the pylon & after setting explosives managed to pull back enough to set them off, earning the rewards of the Side Hustle. 

 That leaves us with 3 remaining scenarios for this campaign. Until next month!

Couple more items off the paint table

As I prep for today's game, I was able to finish a couple of other painting projects that were cluttering the table.

First was the remaining figures from 'In too Deep'. This is the large Police Robot & the sentry droids which the cyber-criminals need to work around while performing their missions.

 

As well, I did a repaint on some native canoes which I had gotten from Will many years ago. They were in one of the many Random Boxes of Things I have everywhere.

 

So thats the quick & dirty for today. Next up, is a small commission job for some game miniatures & finishing the 2nd building for Authentic Dungeons. For now its..waiting to hear the doorbell ring.  

Stargrave - Venemous Croakers

Prepping for our next campaign game on Sunday, I needed to come up with some Venemous Croakers. So it was off to Dollarama to check our their plastic plants. I wasn't sure exactly what I had in mind, so snagged a few different bits. The purple flowers were in small packets, sorry I didn't get an image of it before removing them.

 

I started off with some taller plants, using the purple flowers with a piece of the fluffier flora gave me this result when completed. And, well, I wasn't sold on the result.

 

Then I tried plucking bits off the ball, which provided some wider leaves with the purple flowers more dispersed within & a lower profile plant. I think I prefer this one!

 

With all that being said, I am not about to destroy my first attempt as of yet, though it would be an easy enough fix. I may use the taller ones to represent the fruit plants....which makes the Venemous Croaker even more dangerous, as it mimics the fruit trees. Now to see how well they do against the crews Sunday!
