Christmas Greetings!

 http://data2.collectionscanada.gc.ca/ap/a/a000848.jpg

As we prepare for another Christmas feast and we are presently between phone calls, I've managed to steal away for a few minutes to get this post together.

Christmas has been another good year for us. The weather is good, just a bit of snow on the ground, so those traveling should enjoy the roads. The temperature is falling to more seasonable levels, so it makes the indoor festivities that much more enjoyable.

I did manage to get the matte over spray on these Zombies this morning. These consist of a Walker, Fatty, and the first of my Berserk & Toxic Zombies. One thing to be sure, the players will need to look a little closer before rushing into zones as they will no longer be that bright green to make them stand out.

I've gone with a light brown to represent the plating on the Berserk Zombies.

I tried to put some number squiggles on his back, but an afterthought hit me, that I may try for next. I will try using some of the really small numbers from the info blurb found on decal sheets left over from my model kits.

For the toxic Zombies I am going with a dark purple boil, with a lavender hi-light

Of course the morning continued with the opening of gifts. This year could have been entitled Malifaux Christmas as you shall see.

First up, the Descent Trollfens Expansion.

Next the beautiful Desolation of Smaug Hard Cover Art Book. We will be hitting the bookstores this boxing day as I am sure there is a Battle of 5 Armies version available. This will be a source of inspiration for when I start working on my GW LOTRO miniatures.

Another item my wife picked up on last Christmas season was my hovering over this Doctor Who Magazine Special on the magazine rack. She must have snagged it when I moved on & stashed it away. To be fair we tend to do this a lot, picking up things this year during the boxing week sales & stashing it away until the next Christmas, which by then has likely been forgotten & becomes a wonderful surprise to see.

Next up are several boxes of Malifaux miniatures. As with most miniatures I buy, they tend to be for systems other than the one produced for. But I must say Malifaux does intrique me & fits well with the whole Pulp, Steampunk, Victoriana eras.

Last up, is an item I bought with my Birthday money, which made a timely arrival in the week before Christmas & thus deserves mentioning. The somewhat new Dystopian Legions 2 player starter set.

The beauty of this set, is it introduces 2 new factions to the Legion's lineup, namely the French & Antarctica. This also will provide 2 more forces for such games as G.A.S.L.I.G.H.T, IHMN & Pulp Alley.

So what's next? Well I am currently starting on my faction for Tim's Song of Shadows & Dust campaign weekend. Hope to have some of these done this weekend. Tomorrow being boxing day is a write-off as I have already been informed of our early departure time to hit the sales.

As I am now smelling the Turkey, it's time to be away. So here is wishing all of you who visit my blog a Very Merry Christmas & Happy New Year!
