Now that I am getting back to the routine with the conventions of May past, I've completed the first 3 of the Heroes from Star Wars Imperial Assault.
First we have Gaarkhan, a Wookie Fierce Warrior.
Diala Passil, a Haunted Exile Padwan
Jyn Odan, the Sly Smuggler
These figures are nice & chunky, meaning that most of the extended bits are not warped as with thinner figures. I think Fantasy Flight has learned from the Descent miniatures how to improve them.
As well, I've started dabbling with the many oddities I have lying about, seeing as I am always moving them, I figured it was a sign to start getting them done!
So here is an Armorcast Barricade
I think I got it as a sample when I purchased a bunch of their stuff.
To show its scale, I've placed a couple of Zombicide Characters behind it.
I am now working on the next 3 heroes from Star Wars, & then have the Rebel Blister Pack Allies to get done. All these will be traded as part of a consignment.
Cheers!
Lovely work Terry, I've been looking at the Star Wars game for a while now, seeing these isn't helping my resolve.
ReplyDeleteThanks Michael, I had avoided the plunge myself until my buddy Brent got me into & game & started talking to me about how much improved it was over the Descent series...a series I've had a couple opportunities to play & am still longing to get painted for myself.
DeleteI would be the "Brent" he is referring to. Imperial Assault is a much improved system over the Doom/Descent system. They have streamlined a lot of the play, made some great changes to fix many of the issues the previous systems had.
ReplyDeleteThe biggest improvement is the Initiative, now the turns bounce back and forth during a turn instead of one side going then the other side going. On the surface, it seems like a small change, but it's not. It speeds the game up ALOT, mainly because the Heroes are not pre-planning 4 Hero turns, they are now only pre-planning one Hero turn. Because the Overlord/Imperial player gets to go immediately afterwards it cuts down on the lengthy "If A, then C, then B, then D...no, no, how about D, then C, then A, then B" discussions. Plan one and done is much faster and its a lot more interesting because the board status is changing (and needs reevaluation) every turn.
Peace
Oh, I almost forgot - Great work on the minis as always Terry!

Thanks Brent, hope to have the next 3 done this weekend!
