Last night Dan brought out his Valkyrie Space Combat game. It was a small gathering as only Dan, Chen & myself were there to start. Evan showed up later & joined me with the Terran forces.
The scenario was that the Terran Repair Station in the Middle of Nowhere was picking up strange sensor blips approaching. After hails went unanswered, nearby ships were mustered to deploy & await further developments.
Soon, spacecraft of unknown origin appeared & continued to move towards the station. Further communication attempts continued to be met with silence.
Commander Solo Han of the Terran Fleet ordered the fleet into action & began deploying drones as they advanced. Yes, the Terrans shot first!
One of the Terran Frigates was evaporated before the rest of the fleet got within nominal range & began to cause damage to the alien fleet. One of the Alien Frigates below attempts to get past the Terrans.
With Dan's half of the alien fleet diminished, it was time to focus on Chen, who was having a hard time getting any hits through on the lone Terran Frigate that faced them for the first couple of turns. However with the destruction of Dan's Heavy ship, I was able to swing my Heavy Cruiser to support the flank.
The forces of both sides were pretty beat up & as the Alien force was unable to destroy the Station, it was a Terran victory.
Thanks Dan for bringing out this new alien force & scaring the crap out of me with their odd weapons!
