Just a quick post this eve as I've completed 4 more Riflemen for my BEF force.
Again these are all Warlord Games metal figures
I alluded that I expected to have them completed by the weekend, & this has allowed me to keep my word on that.
As I looked at the squad shaping up, I realized I was missing 1 Rifleman for the Rifle team, so will be adding one to the Bren Team for the squad to complete it.
What’s your trick to getting these painted up so swiftly (seemingly)? I’m having a heck of a time getting my commandos done
ReplyDeleteThanks Dai, to be honest, I am a slow painter, these 4 taking me the week to do. The trick I am currently enjoying is the having to work from home during this pandemic. I use a good chunk of my lunch hours now to go spend a bit of time on the hobby. When we are back to normal, its pretty much just my Sunday afternoon paint time, so then it gets really slow
DeleteMore great additions Terry. Question, are you double stacking your bases or are they just a single taller base?
ReplyDeleteThanks Ivor. Those are actually the plastic bases that came with the figures glued onto the washers. These washers had larger centre holes which was going to make mounting them directly on the washers a challenge. I did go out & bought Fender Washers which have a smaller hole. You will see figures directly mounted to them after this current squad is done.
DeleteNice additions Terry! Your force is gradually filling out in size!
ReplyDeleteThanks Simon. The biggest challenge of course is finding alternative sculpts for this era of the war. After France & Norway, the British pretty much stopped the use of wearing the gas masks & gas capes. I did pick up some Empress Miniatures & have a couple squads of Highland Infantry.
DeleteGreat seeing the squad nearing completion, your colour consistency is wonderful to behold, I'd have to do all the figures in the same sitting to get that effect !
ReplyDeleteThanks Joe! I've just set the paints I am using in a row, so I know the sequence.
