BEF - 3rd Squad Riflemen (group 1)

Here we have 3 of the Riflemen for the 3rd squad that I've completed during my lunch hour paint sessions.

As with the others, these are all from the Warlord Games BEF squad sets.

The next 3 riflemen are on the table as well as the Bren team to complete the platoon squad troops. I've picked out the platoon Sgt figure as well as the Boy's AT Rifle team figures. which will complete the base platoon.

    1. Hey Dave, glad to see you back in the loop. I was getting hounded by Scott to get my Early War British force done for Chain of Command, for once the Pandemic ends. Hoping we can get back to our monthly Saturday events at the clubhouse again. You will be missed. So hows the new locale? Have you scoped out local gaming stores or clubs?

    2. Yes, I've painted 3 armies (French, German and Soviet) so it was about time you get your limeys to the table!

    4. Found an outstanding gaming place in London, well stocked with hobby stuff and has a ton of gaming space - https://www.thegamechamber.com/ - now we just need everybody to get two shots of vaccine.

  2. Nice additions Terry! I quite like the grenade thrower. I have some plastic US infantry that I plan on doing for 7TV Pulp but can't quite figure out what body and left arm to use. There are done so differently. I think what I am struggling with is the fact the grenade and arm appears to be forward just being released.

    1. Thanks Simon, odd you should mention that. The fellow with the grenade is posed as we were originally taught to toss the grenade (as per the manual), however we were then shown the baseball throw method, once we passed the Performance/Enabling Objective with the manuals version. As for your dilemma, think about a baseball pitcher winding up for a throw & see if you have torsos that kind of fit. I would need to see them for any further opinion,

  3. I'm not a big fan of figures with greandes (in any pose) and would rather have an advancing figure like the chap on the left. Nevertheless for varition it's probably a good thing to have the odd figure so armed.
Looking forward to the whole force being completed, they look so good.

    1. Thanks Joe. I can say that the US soldier throwing a grenade in the old airfix 1/72 scale series often ended up being used as a casualty figure. With the small assortment of BEF equipped figures out there, I will take the odd random one so they don't all look like rank & file troops.

  5. Well at least with all the figs being mostly uniform it’ll be all the easier to pick out squad leaders and lmg troops.

This project is going to be very cool once it hits the table

    1. Thanks Dai, I will have the platoon done for sure. The next 3 Riflemen are ready for the blog once they've had their flocking dry & photos tomorrow for my next post. Got well into the Bren Team as well, so my sessions during the week will see them done.
